What is an irrigation drain?

An irrigation drain is a system that delivers water directly to plant roots, promoting deep rooting and healthy plant growth. By supplying water directly to the roots, it prevents roots from developing only at the soil surface or receiving insufficient moisture due to drought or surface runoff. This system also improves soil aeration, which is essential for root respiration and helps prevent soil compaction. It can also be used to deliver liquid fertilizers directly to plant roots.

Which Plantco Drain Hydro kits are available?

We offer 4 different irrigation kits. To choose the most suitable one, please refer to our sizing chart and technical datasheet, as plant circumference and height play an important role in selecting the correct kit.

For example, the 40HYDRO PE irrigation drain is ideal for small plants. It is cost-effective and quick to install directly in the planting pit. It can easily be nailed to a stake using its plastic fixing support. This format is ideal for linear hedge irrigation.

The other three PE kits—68HYDRO, 88HYDRO and MRHYDRO—are perfectly suited for large trees. They are very easy to install and offer an efficient, discreet and aesthetic solution. They can be integrated into tree grates or turf areas thanks to their T-joint and riser system. They end with a PE inspection chamber equipped with a grid. Aluminium caps are available as an option.
