Green Avenue geotextile is highly permeable, visually discreet (less reflective than a woven fabric) and easy to cut without fraying.
Description:
GEOTEX® synthetic weed control fabric is a non-woven polypropylene geotextile. Essential for preparing soft ground prior to artificial grass installation, it offers excellent strength and permeability. This 110 g/m² geotextile is a non-woven polypropylene fabric that is easy to cut and install.
Please note that GEOTEX® has been specifically selected for its quality and durability when used beneath artificial grass installations. Not all geotextiles possess the technical characteristics required for this application.
When preparing for artificial grass installation, the use of a geotextile layer depends on the nature of the subgrade. On soft surfaces such as soil, sand or gravel, the installation of a geotextile is essential. An artificial grass project within a garden requires a different installation process compared with a project installed directly onto a concrete slab, such as in a school playground.
GEOTEX® geotextile is installed following the initial subgrade preparation, directly over the soil surface. After laying the geotextile tightly and evenly, overlap adjacent rolls by 10 cm and secure them using staples or fixing nails. Installed at this level, the geotextile prevents mixing between soil and sand layers whilst helping to inhibit the growth of natural grass roots and weeds. The stabilised sand layer is then installed over the GEOTEX® geotextile prior to compaction.
Once the installation is complete, the GEOTEX® geotextile remains completely concealed, as it forms part of the ground preparation beneath the artificial grass. It stabilises the overall construction, prevents the different layers from mixing and provides a uniform foundation for the future artificial lawn.
